May 23, 2008

Whew!! I finally had time to do this again!! So much has gone on, yet so little....anyway.
Little She has started this thing where she is obviously the leader, and I do as she says. There are so many new rules: 1. Stay in kitchen while my humans are eating 2. Wait until leader has gone out door, then go out 3. Be sure to stay behind or at the side of leader when on leash at all times, except when given permission 4. Never nip, bite, growl, or bare the teeth 5. Always obey, right away 6.......the list could go on and on! Although I am somewhat overwhelmed, I think I kind of like it--it's kind of like being out there in a wolf pack, with a leader, a ranking, and many rules. It's fun.
I visited "horse" the other day. Boy, is it spooky! It seems to have a bad temper, too--it thrust it's hind leg toward me when I was trying to say hello (it seems that noone but dogs approach this end of the body when greeting). I have decided to keep away from her.
Tabitha the Terrible swung at me today. She dislikes the way I move, the way I look, and the way I clean myself. I am proud to say that I don't get hairballs like she does! I told her so, and that was when she growled and swung at me. I simply looked at her, then walked away--like the good dog I am.
I am trying my hardest to keep this site more updated--please keep with me, and keep on checking back for more of my journal--I try to put on a post every week!!
Have a nice day!!

Week #1--Getting Started

This is my week #1 on here.
I may as well tell you some of my background first--wouldn't make sense if I didn't. It started out in around April or May, perhaps, in my mother's den--she had about ten puppies. My mother's name--oh, I quite forget. It does occur to me, however, that my father's name was Scout. Next week I will see if I can dig up my mother's name.
Anyway, one day, a family came by and looked at all the girls of my family--including me. Big She held me in her arms. She explained how calm and cute I was, and then it was that they crated me and took me. My mother said a solemn goodbye. "Never forget what I have taught you," she said. I nodded.
It happened that I was in for adventure. I slept for the most part of the next few months, but finally made it to the adventurous stages of a puppy.
Now I am a grown dog of five years. I have near forgotten my family, but the words of my mother will always ring true in my ears--even if I don't always obey it.
My family now consists of eleven, including me. There is Big She. She rules the house when Big He is gone. She is constantly insisting I quit stepping on her toes. Big He loves to fool around--even when I don't. We play many games together. There's Little She. She teaches me many a trick. I have learned to bow and shake paws. Then there's Little He and Little He Junior. I often have trouble telling them apart. Little He generally has little to do with me. Little He Junior pretty much claimed me, but can be frustrating at times. There's Little She Junior. I ignore her. She's my size, and constantly going after me, insisting to pet me. I don't like that. There's Tabitha. I call her Tabitha the Terrible. She doesn't like me, even if I only wish to smell her nose. She bats at me, and many a time her claws have scraped across my skin. I am told that a cat named Romeo lives here. I have glimpsed him sometimes. He is old and gray, and keeps out of everyone's business. I am also told that there is a horse at the garage that Big He runs named Missy--by the way, what is a horse? I have been trying to figure this out for some time, but it's quite hard, as you might know--I have no access to books. There's also Sally, a black-and-white long-hair cat. I chased her up a post once--and how proud I was at the moment!!
This week has been uneventful. My dear friend Susie has come to spend three weeks, as I heard. I am quite happy.
Perhaps next week there will be more adventures to speak of. Perhaps.
